For 40 years, Advanced Refrigeration & Air has been a trusted leader in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. Headquartered in Orlando, our family-owned company operates five locations across Florida and serves grocery retailers, restaurants, and other businesses throughout Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.
We are seeking Apprentices to join our Orlando Construction team.
Summary:
Construction apprentices provide essential ground-level support to the refrigeration installation crew.
Essentials Duties:
Able to read tape measure
Identify and memorize materials by size, type and application
Identify refrigeration tools and their use
Operate powered tools
Compile list of materials for pipefitter and pull from onsite inventory
Glue and tape Armaflex and foam glass
Unload trucks for equipment deliveries
Perform case cleaning tasks
Create and install hanger supports for overhead piping
Keep onsite trailers clean and organized
Learn basic principles of refrigeration installation
Attain safety certifications
Train in basic application for brazing copper
Work safely and follow all safety rules
Team player, able to take directives and have a good attitude
Job Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be motivated.
Ability to be flexible, working day shifts, night shifts, and travel out of town
Reliable transportation to meeting sites is necessary
Effective communication skills; bilingual preferred
Work Experience:
Former experience in a construction trade, 6 months + required
Education: High School Diploma or GED and or combination equivalent of education.
Physical Work Demands:
While performing this job, the employee must regularly use their hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, reach with their hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The position requires frequent standing and walking, as well as travel to job sites. The employee must also use ladders or other equipment to access elevated areas, assist with tasks, and inspect completed work. Required visual abilities include close, distance, and color vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Demands:
Availability for out-of-town assignments with night shifts
Regular and on-time attendance.
